Surface Characteristics

The electrode surface must exhibit no more than two defects or holes, with their maximum permissible size as indicated in the accompanying chart.

Absence of transverse cracks is mandatory on the electrode surface. In the case of longitudinal cracks, their length must not exceed 5% of the electrode’s circumference, while their width should fall within the range of 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm.

The width of any darkened region on the electrode surface must not exceed 1/10 of the electrode’s circumference, and its length should remain below 1/3 of the total electrode length.

Graphite Electrode RP Advantage

HP grade graphite electrodes are easier to process and process faster than copper electrodes

HP graphite electrode advantage is that it is easy to process, the discharge processing rate is high, and the graphite loss is small.

Graphite Electrode RP Production Characteristics

Graphite electrode RP production cycle is long.

Graphite electrode RP have high energy consumption.

Graphite electrode RP are many production processes.

Harmful gases and dusts are generated during the production of RP graphite electrode process, and environmental protection is required.

Production of carbonaceous raw refractory materials required petroleum coke and coal tar pitch are the production and processing by-products of refining enterprises and coal chemical enterprises. The quality and stability of raw refractory materials are difficult to be fully protected.

The surface quality of RP graphite electrode

There should be less than two defects or holes on the electrode surface, the max size of which is mentioned in the below chart(Surface quality of RP graphite electrode, defects are within the allowable range).

There should be no transverse crack on the electrode surface. For the longitudinal crack, the length should be less than 5% of the electrode circumference and the width between 0.3-1.0mm.

The width of the black area on the electrode surface should be less than 1/10 of electrode circumference and the length less than 1/3 of the electrode.

Product Packaging

Nominal package type
RP graphite electrodes are placed upon wooden pallets and braced strongly with high-quality steel tape to be suitable for land and sea transportation. Nipples are packed in crates.

Pre-set package type
Assembled RP graphite electrodes and nipples are packed in crates. Nipples and sockets are protected with polyester caps. Keep the protective caps at each end in place and undamaged, this can protect the threads from damage by bumping and other abrasions.

FAQ

Q: What is the RP graphite electrode used for?

A: RP graphite electrodes find application in the manufacture of Steel and other non-ferrous metals through the Electric Arc Furnace and the Laddle Furnace routes. It is used as a consumable for conducting high current at low voltage which is necessary for melting and/or alloying processes.

Q: How long is your product production cycle?

A: The production cycle of our company’s products is 3~6 months.
