HP graphite electrode is the conducting element for electric arc furnaces steelmaking. It is made of petroleum coke, needle coke, coal pitch and produced by a series of strict production processes. High-current lines insert through the graphite electrode port inside the furnace body. This will releases electric energy in the arc furnace to heat the furnace.
The demand for the larger diameter electrodes has been increasing as EAF furnace sizes become larger. Graphite electrodes with diameter of 500 mm or 600 mm have become increasingly popular in recent years.
Advantages Of HP Graphite Electrode
High Electrical Conductivity
HP graphite electrodes have excellent electrical conductivity, allowing for efficient transfer of electrical energy into the electric arc furnace. This conductivity ensures rapid and uniform heating of the furnace charge, promoting efficient melting of the steel scrap or other materials.
High Thermal Resistance
HP electrodes exhibit high resistance to thermal shock and thermal cycling. The high thermal resistance helps to prevent damage to the electrodes, prolonging their operational lifespan.
Low Thermal Expansion
HP graphite electrodes have a low coefficient of thermal expansion. This characteristic helps maintain dimensional stability and integrity during operation, reducing the risk of electrode breakage or deformation.
High Mechanical Strength
HP electrodes possess high mechanical strength and rigidity, allowing them to withstand the mechanical stresses and loads encountered during EAF steelmaking processes. This strength helps prevent electrode breakage and ensures stable and reliable performance throughout the operation.
High Oxidation Resistance
HP graphite electrodes have excellent oxidation resistance, even at elevated temperatures. This property helps protect the electrodes from surface degradation and erosion caused by the harsh operating environment within the electric arc furnace.

High Temperature Resistant Type: Graphite melting point is 3850+50℃, boiling point is 4250℃, even ultra high temperature ignition, weight loss is small, thermal expansion coefficient is small. Graphite with increasing temperature and strengthen intensity, at 2000℃, graphite double intensity.
Electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, conductivity of graphite nonmetallic ore is one hundred times higher than normal. Thermal conductivity than steel, iron, lead and other metal materials. The coefficient of thermal conductivity decreases with increasing temperature, and even at high temperatures, graphite turns into an insulator.
Lubrication ability, lubrication performance depends on the size of graphite flake graphite flakes, the greater the coefficient of friction is less, the better the lubrication performance.
Chemical stability: Graphite at room temperature with good chemical stability, acid, alkali and corrosion resistance to organic solvent.
Ductility: Graphite is good hardness, can become a very thin piece.
Thermal shock resistance: Graphite when used at room temperature can withstand severe temperature changes without damage, temperature mutations, graphite Volume change is not large, will not produce failure.
Management delegates and quality inspection department organize internal examine every year to supervise and check system running status.
Second party inspection is carried out by end user.
Third party inspection is carried out by certificaiton authority.
Packing and logistic is farmed out to other company, and strictly execute as per Contract items.
Have specific after-sales service teams to check our product performances, and feedback the problems to company for improving.

The Electrodes should be kept in a clean, drying place and avoid vibrations and collisions. It should be dried before use.
When installing the joint, please clean the hole with the compressed air, then carefully screw the joint and not damage the thread.
When connecting electrodes, the two electrodes should be cleaned with compressed air when they are 20-30mm apart.
When using a wrench to connect the electrode, it should be completely taut to the specified position so that the gap between the two electrodes is not less than 0.05mm.
To avoid the electrode fracture, please avoid the insulation block.
To avoid the electrode fracture, please place the bulk block in the upper part.
