UHP600mm In Steel Smelting And yellow phosphorus

UHP600mm graphite electrode is an indispensable component in the steelmaking process of electric arc furnaces (EAF). In the EAF, graphite electrodes transfer electrical energy to the melting materials inside the furnace through their conductivity and high temperature resistance. An arc is formed between the graphite electrode and the melting materials, generating high temperatures that melt scrap steel and other raw materials. UHP600mm is also used in the silicon refining process of submerged arc furnaces (SAF) to generate arcs and high temperatures. The arc heats up raw materials such as quartz and carbon, causing quartz to melt and undergo chemical reactions, resulting in the production of silicon metal.

PRODUCT FEATURE AND APPLICATION

The resistivity of ultra-high power graphite electrodes is usually in the range of 4-6 μ Ω· m. This resistivity level enables ultra-high power graphite electrodes to efficiently conduct current in equipment such as electric arc furnaces, generating sufficient heat for metal melting and refining. It should be noted that the specific resistivity values may vary depending on the manufacturer, raw materials, and manufacturing process.

The main applications of ultra-high power graphite electrodes are as follows:

Steelmaking: Ultra high power graphite electrodes are indispensable conductive materials in steelmaking electric arc furnaces. They release electrical energy in the form of an arc in the electric arc furnace, heating and melting the furnace materials. Compared with ordinary and high-power graphite electrodes, ultra-high power graphite electrodes can withstand higher current densities, thereby shortening the melting time of scrap steel, reducing electricity consumption, and improving production efficiency.

Yellow phosphorus production: In the production of yellow phosphorus, ultra-high power graphite electrodes also play an important role. Due to its superior conductivity, it can effectively convert electrical energy into thermal energy, meeting the high temperature requirements in the production process of yellow phosphorus.

Industrial silicon smelting: In the process of industrial silicon smelting, ultra-high power graphite electrodes are also key conductive components used to provide sufficient heat to achieve silicon extraction.
